Just a few images (below) of the Downtown Calgary skyline and Bow River captured during the Sunset on September 15th, 2022, from near the Max Bell Centre in Calgary, AB..pleasant late Summer's evening :)
I know, I know..same vantage point as yesterday here, but I like how the clouds in this evening's version add some drama, and the forest fire haze seems to be a bit more prevalent. A couple more images (below) of the Downtown Calgary skyline and Bow River captured during the Sunset on September 16th, 2022, from near the Max Bell Centre in Calgary, AB..another pleasant late Summer's evening :)
It was kind of interesting watching this Mallard hen foraging in the shallow water the Bow River. Looked like she was finding what she needed on the surface of the riverbed rocks :)
I was playing around with/testing out a newly acquired 10 stop Neutral Density (ND) filter on September 17th along the Bow River. I like the idea of what you can do with regard to long exposure photos using it, but the way it throws the colours all out of whack is quite disappointing. It took a fairly long time in post processing to get this photo (below) even anywhere close to back to what the colour of things really are. Oh well lol. The first picture is with the ND filter on (20 seconds), the second is without (1/200 of a second).
I just seem to keep working this same scene/image (below) over the past few evenings. Reason being, the Sunset is lining up very nicely with the Calgary Tower and Bow River from this particular vantage point right now..won't happen again for about another 6 months, and at that time the trees won't have leaves on them yet, so... :)
Last ones of these for a while (below), at least from this particular vantage point that I've been using for the past 4 evenings in a row anyway lol..the Sun is now dropping too low to align with the top of the Calgary Tower from here, near the Max Bell Centre.
Bye-bye to Summer 2022. Captured this scene (below) starting during Nautical Twilight (about 45 minutes before the last Sunrise of Summer) up until near Sunrise on the morning of September 22nd, 2022. Just a wee bit of yellow starting to creep in on these particular trees in the foreground so far.
Testing/trying out the new 10 stop ND filter again here..you can see the effect it has on the clouds in the scene (below). The first photo is without the ND filter (1/4 second), and the second is with the filter (2 minutes).
'Cotton Candy Clouds'
I captured this image of the Downtown Calgary skyline about a half hour after it had officially turned to Autumn, and about 2 minutes after the Sun had set. It's a 5 shot 16:9 panoramic image :)

I then captured these images (below) about an hour or so after it had officially turned to Autumn, and about half an hour or so after the Sun had set. I like images of the Downtown Skyline with the city lights turned on :)
Just a nice simple shot of the Calgary Tower, with a few of its neighboring structures. I like that the Tower stands above the other buildings from this particular vantage point/perspective, and that it's lit up in one solid colour. I also like the balance between the fading natural ambient light (left over from the day) and the unnatural city lights (that are just coming to life) at the time of this capture :)
