Here are a variety of photos captured in the early part of Spring, 2023.
On the cold, relitively windless, morning of March 29th I tried capturing some photos of frozen bubbles during sunrise hoping for some nice colour or natural light, but it didn't work out very well. The light was very dull with no colour to speak of, so I decided to process the photos in black and white.
I was the fool on April 1st at the hand of Mother Nature, not once, but twice. I tried capturing the setting moon alligned with the Calgary Tower without success from the east side of the city. Did manage to come away with this photo (below) though after the moon cleared the clouds upon its decent. Those are leafless tree branches in the foreground..didn't even know they were there at the time of shooting as it was still so dark out. After, I drove over to the west side of the city for a Downtown Calgary skyline shot, as the weather forecast showed some potential for a nice sunrise. Well, that didn't work out all that well either..win some - lose some (see below).
I just had to test out my long lens upon receiving back from the Nikon shop (see bird photos below). The vibration reduction feature had mysteriously quit working, but they fixed it up under warranty without question..works good as new! :)
